The first alternative form of food for dog is frozen or freeze dried dog food. This dog food comes in the raw or in cooked food but this food is not processed. These kinds of dog foods can be stored in freezers for longer period of time. The second type of the food for dog is the dehydrated food which is available in the raw and cooked form. This dog food is similar to the dry dog food but it may need warm water addition before serving to the dog. Third type of dog food is the pasteurized dog food which has fresh food ingredients in it. This food for dog can be preserved for about 2 to 4 months.
Dog owners also prefer to serve homemade food to their dogs. These foods for dog are prepared by the people and they are sold in the market. Homemade food does not have many preservatives therefore, it should be consumed within few days.
