It has become an increasingly common practice to submit your blog to any one of the many web directories on the Internet over the past few years. Able to put your blog in touch with countless thousands of readers each of whom you may be able to translate into sales web directories are absolutely essential aids if you want to submit your blog.
It is important to realize that when you submit your blog, the process is slightly different than when you want to submit your website. There are a number of key differences in this regard, and becoming fully aware of as many of these differences as possible will allow your site to be indexed a lot sooner and more easily. This of course will go a long way in ensuring the eventual success of your blog.
You will also want to put together a sitemap, which should ideally be done before you submit your blog. This is particularly true when you want to submit your blog to Google. The good news is that this task isnt as hard as it seems, and you will only have to do it once. Of course, you will want to make sure that there are no errors present by checking your blog often. You will also have to update your sitemap on a regular basis.
If you prefer to submit your blog to Wordpress on the other hand, it will be necessary for you to install the sitemap plugin for the application. This will free you up from having to update your sitemap manually on a regular basis, since the task is largely performed automatically. The plugin software also sends word to Google about any changes that you implement on your blog.
Some people actually use blogging software that doesnt come with sitemap generation services. If you are presently using such software, you may be interested to known that Google offers a host of creation tools that you can use to create your own sitemaps.
If getting a detailed report isnt really all that important to you, you could still submit your blog to Google without an accompanying sitemap. Keep in mind though that Google will not allow you to submit your blog directly, and you will instead have to submit it to blog directories that Google routinely trawls though during the course of a blog search.
