The city is home to many cultural destinations, including the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the Memorial Art Gallery, and the Strong National Museum of Play. Rochester is also home to beautiful park land, which include such locations as Cobb's Hill, Genesse Valley, and Maplewood. Many of these locations have recreation centers and activities on a daily basis where you and your family can visit and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds them while being engaged mentally. There is a natural splendor in the city that you will not be able to find anywhere else, so you should do your best to take it all in while you have the time. While you may not be able to visit every park surrounding the city, you can certainly try.
If you want to plan your trip around a festival, there are many which may be right up your alley. Jazz and film festivals are held on an annual, and in some cases semiannual basis, where local artists show off their talents and works to local audiences, and even sometimes to tourists as well. Once you get a taste of the spirit of Rochester, you may even want to make your vacation an extended stay. There are many fine hotels within the city that can make your visit a comfortable and relaxing experience, so consider booking a flight and staying a while.
