For people whose lives contain endless amounts of travel, packing light is an important part of a pleasant trip. Traveling is made difficult enough between the long flights and driving between locations; do not compound the difficulties by forcing yourself to lug around heavy suitcases and bags.
Generally, in order for people to pack light, they are forced to leave some of their more prized pieces of technology at home. Oftentimes, it seems like some of the most useful products are far too heavy or large to fit into a suitcase, briefcase, or bag. However, manufacturers are making an attempt to produce smaller products that can be easily packed into the luggage of travelers.
One of the groups of people that is most readily helped by this advance is businessmen and women. One of the most exciting advances in portable equipment for businesspeople is experienced through the use of the portable scanner. Portable scanners offer the conveniences of traditional scanners, all in one lightweight and easy-to-use package.
You may assume, as many others initially do, that portable devices are simply not as good as their regular-sized counterparts. You have probably come to this conclusion on the basis of having to leave out important aspects of the object's functionality in order to make it smaller and lightweight. However, this could not be farther from the truth. Portable scanners contain the same OCR, or Optical Character Recognition, technology as is exhibited in traditional scanners. When using a portable scanner, businessmen and women will have the same experience as using a traditional scanner, with the added bonus of portability. Businessmen and women can slip their portable scanner into their luggage without adding weight or bulk to their baggage. This way, businessmen and women can use their portable scanner for many useful tasks while on their trip, such as scanning business cards into their computer or storing important documents on their computer's hard drive. Businessmen and women should not leave their home without portable scanners.
